Our ELA program combines reading, writing, and speaking/listening. Expect great growth in all three areas this year - it's a year of sophistication and maturity.
StudySync curriculum is broken into themes (Turning Points, Ancient Realms, Facing Challenges, Heroes) and gives access to various literature. Students can read passages, and respond to the reading online and in individual student workbooks. With each story, a different reading standard/concept is highlighted and worked on in depth.
Writing is organized into three types of writing: Informational/Explanatory, Argument, and Narrative. Within each type, students will work on expanding vocabulary, developing sentences, organizing paragraphs, and editing. Each genre of writing will allow growth and variety in introductory sentences (thesis/claim) and closing paragraphs.
